According to a report by Mediotiempo.com, Club America have finalized the purchase to the rights of Spanish striker Alvaro Fidalgo from Real Madrid. The young Spaniard was with Las Aguilas on a loan deal, at the end of which America had the option to make the move permanent through a clause.

Reportedly, the azulcremas paid Castellon, Real Madrid's second division affiliate, $1.5M to finalize the deal. Fidalgo made his debut with the merengues in Copa del Rey, and America manager, Real Madrid legend Santiago Solari, pushed hard to have the young striker with him in Coapa last year. The acquisition was highly criticized at first by the fans due to the lack of experience by Fidalgo; however, the forward proved them wrong through his performances and now he is a central part of America's plan going forward.

America is now seeking to sign Fidalgo to a new 3-year contract, given the player's young age of 24.
