Jens Petter Hauge improved. Matured. Transformed. And he showed it in full against Lazio last night, running the show from start to finish. The Norwegian winger delivered an assist for Sandnes, was involved in the build-up to the opening goal, and produced several more dazzling moments that could have widened the final 2-0 scoreline in favour of Bodø/Glimt.

After spells at AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt, and a loan stint at Gent, Hauge now looks ready for a new chapter. At 25, he seems fully matured—finally the player many hoped he would become back in 2020, when he came close to eliminating Milan in a memorable Europa League qualifier. Now, he’s back home, but this time as the leader of a side dreaming big in Europe, with Bodø/Glimt firmly in the hunt for a deep Europa League run—thanks in large part to his brilliance on a freezing night in northern Norway.

Hauge Reflects on His past AC Milan Dream

In recent days, Hauge opened up about his Italian adventure:
It changed my life. I found myself playing at San Siro and felt amazing. Just a few days earlier I had played one of the best matches of my life. I believed in myself, I was outrunning everyone, and finished the game with a goal and an assist. Moncada had seen some footage of me. I remember that night in the hotel—I couldn’t sleep. I grabbed a Coca-Cola and rewatched the game. I had chills.

So many clubs were interested. One even sent me flight tickets, but I turned them down for Milan. It was the only option. A dream come true.

Now, with confidence restored and performances to match, Hauge is once again catching the eye—and this time, he looks more than ready to return to the European spotlight.
