Manchester United, Onana Disappoints: Summer Exit Possible - But Only Under One Condition

André Onana’s Manchester United nightmare could soon be coming to an end – but only if the club can avoid taking a financial hit.
The Cameroon international, who arrived at Old Trafford last summer in a €50 million deal from Inter Milan, has failed to live up to expectations and now finds himself staring at the exit door. United, however, are refusing to sell at a discount, demanding to recoup the full amount they paid just a year ago.
Onana was left out of the squad for the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, fuelling rumours of an impending departure. It follows a string of shaky performances – most recently in the Europa League against Lyon, where two costly errors piled on the pressure.
But things turned ugly off the pitch too. Onana reportedly clashed with Nemanja Matic after claiming United were “much stronger” than their opponents. The veteran midfielder didn’t hold back, allegedly labelling him the “worst goalkeeper in the club’s history” – a brutal jibe that’s making headlines across Europe.
The fallout was swift. A dreadful night in Europe, followed by a place in the stands at St James’ Park. United are clearly running out of patience.
Now, with the summer window approaching, Onana’s days in Manchester look numbered – unless a suitor is willing to meet United’s hefty asking price.
