SERIE A - Pioli: "Ibra and Giroud can play together."

Stefano Pioli, Milan coach, during the event in Piazza Duomo in Biella "Champions under the stars", also focused on the tactical coexistence between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud:

“They are two great players with different characteristics. Olivier gives us a point of reference for depth and presence in the area, Zlatan is now an attacking playmaker, he likes to touch more balls and not stand still inside the area. I believe that when they are both at 100%, I hope soon, we can try to make them play together. The fact of not having succeeded before is a shame but there was no opportunity. I believe it can be done ”.

Giroud joined crosstown rivals Chelsea in a £18 million (€20.7 million) deal in 2018, winning the FA Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the UEFA Europa League, with the latter ending as top striker in 2019. In 2021, Giroud agreed to join AC Milan.
