PREMIER - Turkish giant still interested with Liverpool forward

Liverpool and Turkish giants, Fenerbahce are reportedly making progress in talks for out-of-favour forward Divock Origi​​​​. The former Genk striker has been lauded for crucial match-winning goals down the years for the Merseyside Reds, however, has failed to become a mainstay of Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.

Origi failed to secure a permanent switch away from the Reds before the English transfer window shuts for business, but teans in Turkey can still sign players until September 8.

As a result, Fotospor reports that Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has landed in the Merseyside Reds, with talks over a deal for Origi progressing “very quickly and positively”.

The report chains that the Merseyside Reds attempted to offload Divock Origi on deadline day last Tuesday, however, failed to do so, and teams in Russia are also hoping to hijack a deal for the Belgian striker.

The 26-year-old has found back of the net 35 times in 157 appearances for the Merseyside Reds across all competitions, however, is due to become a free agent next year and rather than losing him for free Jurgen Klopp’s side would be open to selling to either Russian or Turkish clubs.
