PREMIER - Arsenal started the negotiation for Leverkusen's starlet
Premier League clubs Man United and Arsenal are ready to go up against each other for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz. Germany international has enjoyed a fantastic start to the Bundesliga this campaign, scoring twice and assisting three more in only three matches so far.
A regular for the Bundesliga giants, Florian has already played 50 games for them, scoring and assisting 11 apiece. A playmaker, Wirtz is also capable of playing on either wing. The 18-year-old playmaker came through the academy at Koln before moving to Bayer Leverkusen last year.
It is fair to say that the Germans have landed themselves another promising teenager to replace Kai Havertz. Bayer Leverkusen do not appear to be opposed to selling their budding superstar. However, it will not be cheap, and they will demand €40-50m, a huge amount for a youngster.
For a team named Arsenal, the London club sure-fire a lot of blanks. Bringing in a footballer such as the German playmaker, who shows initiative and out-of-the-box thinking, could hand them a major boost in breaking down obstinate defences.
Alongside Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Saka and Odegaard, the teenager could be a part of a solid spine that will serve the club for years to come. The Bundesliga has its share of special teenagers, and Florian could be only the latest name to be added to that list. If he keeps it up, the sky is the limit for the teenager.
