Xavi Hernández is on his way to Spain to be presented on Monday as the new coach of FC Barcelona, where he will have a rather complicated challenge ahead. His return to the club has generated a lot of excitement and happiness in the club environment, which, in recent years, has had terrible years at a sporting, economic and institutional level.

His objective is clear and he confirmed it for the journalist Edu Polo from Mundo Deportivo: "The best club in the world has to win, it cannot be tied or lost." No one knows the club better than he, so there is no doubt that he will not mind carrying the burden of being the face of the club's new project.

The coach of the Barça team has a great challenge ahead of him because he does not have enough time to work and give his mark to a team that comes from complicated years due to the loss of talent (lowest level) and the constant defeats that have disrupted to the team at the emotional level, generating that each complicated context is multiplied by two.

-Know what works for you and what doesn't: The message is the key to success. Xavi said that the first thing he will do is talk to the players to find out about his situation and begin to explain his game model. This first contact is key to determine which footballers serve you in the short / medium / long term and who do not. The little time of work takes away the opportunity to adapt footballers in his system from the first moment, so he will bet on the players that fit his plan by profile and quality.

The most important thing is the footballer, so the most important thing is that the message arrives first and then continue with the rest of the steps.

-Build a structure: he made it clear in the interview for Mundo Deportivo "It is not the best moment in the history of the club, but I want to explain my idea and work hard, make a team." The first thing Xavi has to do is shape his team, keeping it away from the vices he had with previous coaches and trying to promote his game model, whatever his position. He doesn't have much time to do it, but convincing him from the word can be key.

The game is the perfect formula to solve the mental problems. When the soccer player feels that the team works he is able to get up from the emotional blows that he can have in a match. If there is no conviction in the idea, it is easier to fall.

-Empower young talents: The context has to seek to give continuity to what is promoted in La Masia because the economic situation of the club continues to be lamentable and they do not have the money to make large signings, so it has to continue betting on young talents (Pedri, Gavi, Nico González, Óscar Mingueza, Ronald Araújo, Ansu Fati…) to renew the team and show a different face.
