BUNDESLIGA - Eintracht signs forward Igor Matanovic
Eintracht Frankfurt closed the deal and signed Igor Matanovic. The 18-year-old center forward will not immediately move to the club, but will spend two more years at FC St. Pauli. With Eintracht the player signed a contract until 2026.
“Igor is a very talented player who is tech-savvy and physically strong. He has great talent and potential. For his further development it is important that he gets as much match practice as possible. A loan to his home club makes sense because on the one hand he can help an ambitious second division team and on the other hand he can take further valuable steps in his development this and next season, ”explains sports director Markus Krösche.
“I'm happy about the prospect of getting my chance in the Bundesliga at Eintracht Frankfurt. But I'm just as happy that I can take my next steps at FC St. Pauli first, ”said Matanovic himself.
The 1.94 meter striker made his professional debut last season. The German U18 international made in 17 appearances and scored his first professional goal in the 3-2 win against Hannover 96 in January. At the Kiezklub, the talented youngster should continue to mature before he goes to Frankfurt.
