RED STAR BELGRADE, Stankovic extends his deal until 2024

Now it’s official: Dejan Stankovic extended his deal with Stella Rossa until 2024. Former midfielder explained his decision: "I am proud of the possibility that the club gave me to lead my Red Star”, Stankovic said. "Thank you all for your patience and trust, I only had the deal extension in my mind. There’s still a lot to do, we do not give up our goals. I am coaching golden boys, I have a great professional staff. We will be complete when Marakana reopens. The Red Star always requires new tests. When one chapter is over, another begins. We are ready to answer all the challenges. The next goal is to win the Cup (against Partizan Belgrade) and we will do our best to conquer the long-awaited double. And then again from the beginning. The Red Star loves to remember, but looks for new challenges and successes”.

On the last few days italian newspapers talked about a meeting between Stankovic and Sampdoria chairman Massimo Ferrero, but now the Serbian coach will stay in Belgrade three more seasons.
