Dembele informed club president Joan Laporta and vice president Rafa Yuste, according to the source, that he wishes to stay and prosper in Catalonia.
Dembele has also informed the board that he will sign a contract with a modest base wage to help with the financial load. He will accept performance-based bonuses, which will benefit the club more.
His extension, along with those of Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Ansu Fati, and Gavi, is crucial for the club, since they risk losing him on a free transfer.
