LIGA - Arsenal closely observing Athletic Bilbao's centreback
Arsenal are closely watching the progress of Athletic Bilbao star Dani Vivian after his promising start to the new campaign, according to a recent report from Spanish publication Fichajes.
The centreback started out at the academy of Santutxu and spent a year at CD Basconia, before joining Athletic Bilbao back in 2017. After spending the first three seasons of his stint with their B team, the 22-year-old central defender spent the last term away on loan with lower league side CD Mirandes.
Back at Athletic, injuries to several defenders saw Vivian be handed a chance in the side by manager Marcelino and Dani has made the most of his opportunities.
Indeed, in Vivian’s seven La Liga appearances, the 22-year-old Spaniard has netted one goal, while impressing with his aerial ability and physicality at the back.
