Javier Hernandez on working with Sir Alex Ferguson at United
Javier Hernandez, a Manchester United fan favorite, has expressed his respect for former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Mexican striker scored 59 goals in 157 appearances during his five years at Old Trafford, earning two Premier League championships and a Community Shield.
After falling out of favor with David Moyes and subsequently Louis Van Gaal, the 2011 Champions League runner-up departed after 50 of his United goals came under his guidance.
Since leaving Manchester, the 33-year-old has played for Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham United, and Sevilla, among other clubs.
While appearing as a guest on the UTD podcast, Hernandez had the following to say:
“The way he presented himself and the way he treated you like a human. The way he treated my family, for me it was like, yeah, I will kill myself for this manager inside the pitch, for sure. For sure!”
“If he treats my family that way, man, I will vomit after every game if it helps him to achieve in games and championships. He was an amazing man. It’s hard to believe.”
